Why you should never share your codes or passwords
A single code can give a scammer access to your money. Learn the warning signs and how to keep your account safe.

Confirmation codes and passwords are your personal authorization to move your money and use your information. They work like a digital signature that confirms activity in your account.
Scammers often try to convince you by saying they're "just helping," that "nothing will happen," or that the code is needed to fix a problem. In reality, sharing that code gives them access to your account or authorizes an action in your name.
What Plata Pay Never Does
To protect your security, remember that Plata Pay never:
Asks you to read out a code.
Uses a code to "cancel" transactions.
Asks for one-time codes, even if the caller claims to be from our security team.
If you share a code with anyone, scammers can use it to get into your account or steal your money.
What if...?
I already shared a code?
Change your password right away and contact Plata immediately — through the app or
at 01 8000 160 555.
They ask for the code "to cancel a transaction"?
It's fraud.
They ask you to "help," "confirm," or "return money" using a code?
Sharing the code makes you vulnerable to a scam, so you should contact us immediately.
